Historically Underutilized Business Program
Â鶹ֱ²¥ is committed to assisting Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) by providing equal opportunities to compete for all procurement opportunities at the agency. Â鶹ֱ²¥ purchases goods and services from HUB vendors whenever possible. Â鶹ֱ²¥'s HUB program provides quality service and results to agency users while meeting legislative HUB contract goals. The Â鶹ֱ²¥ HUB Office assists vendors with the following:
- Information about HUB opportunities
- Access to procurement information
- Completion of applicable HUB forms and reports
- Mentor-protégé teams Â
HUB Certification
The State of Texas maintains a HUB program and directory for minority-owned, women-owned, and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. HUB certification increases exposure to all bid opportunities. To learn more, visit the .
Legislative AuthorityÂ
requires state agencies to determine if subcontracting opportunities are probable in connection with agency solicitations with an expected value of $100,000 or more.
If subcontracting is probable, agencies must make a good faith effort to meet HUB goals for the procurement and ensure contractors submit a HUB Subcontracting Plan.Â
